Italian music students perform in US for Columbus Day
Italian musical students from different regions traveled to the United States to perform during Columbus Day celebrations.
In New York, four students from the ‘Sandro Pertini’ Music High School of Genoa performed at Columbus Circle and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Accompanied by director Luca Franco Ferrari, the group presented a repertoire of Ligurian music spanning five centuries. The project was supported by the Metropolitan City of Genoa and the Liguria Region.
In Chicago, a delegation of 34 young musicians from the ‘T. Confalonieri’ Music High School of Campagna represented the Campania region. The group participated in official Columbus Day festivities and engaged in a cultural exchange at Notre Dame High School, where students were paired with American peers to practice the Italian language and share musical interests.
