Italian musical artists to perform in Romania

Several Italian musical projects and artists are scheduled to perform in Romania this October. In Cluj-Napoca, the EurOrchestra will present ‘Poesie in Musica’ on October 23 at the Eminescu Hall. This collaboration with the University of Cluj-Napoca and the Italian Cultural Institute in Bucharest features a repertoire spanning Italian song, film music, and folk traditions, highlighting the works of Nino Rota and Mikis Theodorakis.

In Timișoara, Italian composer and organist Francesco Filidei will present ‘The Sound of the Rose’ at the FIKL ART STAGE on October 27. Part of the 13th ‘Remus Georgescu’ International Festival-Competition, the event integrates music with visual arts through a guided tour of paintings by Gheorghe Fikl. Filidei, an internationally recognized contemporary composer, will also lead a composition workshop from October 25 to 31, working with five young composers whose works will receive their world premieres during the ‘DIVINATION’ recital on October 31.
