Italian musical festivals announce September programs in Milan and Clusone

Several musical events are scheduled to take place in Italy in late September. In Milan, the 32nd edition of the Atelier Musicale, organized by the Secondo Maggio cultural association, will begin on September 26 at the Camera del Lavoro. The season opens with a tribute to John Coltrane, marking the centenary of his birth. The performance will feature the Monday Orchestra, directed by Luca Missiti, alongside saxophonist Stefano “Cocco” Cantini, exploring landmark jazz compositions from the late 1950s through 1964.

In Clusone, the Musica Mirabilis International Music Festival will host its first international study conference on September 26 and 27. Dedicated to the composer Giovanni Legrenzi, the event will bring together nine scholars to examine his musical and theatrical legacy during the fourth centenary of his birth. Curated by the Società Italiana di Musicologia, the conference will focus on Legrenzi’s vocal, sacred, and instrumental works at the Sala Legrenzi in Palazzo Marinoni Barca.
