Italian mystery literature festivals announce award winners

The Festival Giallo Garda and the Santa in Giallo festival have announced various awards and ceremonies related to mystery, noir, and thriller literature in Italy.

The twelfth edition of the Festival Giallo Garda will hold its awards ceremony on October 18 at the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera. For translated works, Virginia Feito’s ‘Victorian Psycho’ (translated by Clara Nubile) took first place. Other notable mentions include works by Amara Lakhous and Michèle Pedinielli. The event will also feature a presentation of the anthology ‘Caccia ai tesori’.

In a unique initiative during the Santa in Giallo festival, the RSA Pellerano Rainusso special prize was awarded to Marco Phillip Massai for his novel ‘Il silenzio del sale’. The jury for this specific award consisted of three elderly residents from the Santa Margherita Ligure care facility, who were tasked with reading and evaluating the entries.
