Italian Navy training ship Orsa Maggiore arrives in London

The Italian Navy's training ship, Orsa Maggiore, has arrived in London as part of a summer educational campaign for midshipmen from the Naval Academy of Livorno. Under the command of Captain Carmine Tortoriello, the vessel entered the Thames and passed through Tower Bridge for the first time in its history.

The visit serves as an exercise in naval diplomacy and professional training. During the stay, the ship hosted Brigadier General Massimiliano Mongillo. A key component of the mission included a visit to the NATO Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) in Northwood, allowing future officers to observe multinational maritime operations and international cooperation firsthand.
