Italian nursery operators launch trade mission to the United Kingdom
Italian nursery operators are conducting a professional mission in the United Kingdom from September 1 to 4. The initiative, led by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in London and the National Association of Exporter Nurserymen (ANVE), aims to promote Italian horticultural excellence and strengthen commercial ties with the British market.
The mission includes participation in the 54th edition of the Four Oaks Trade Show, held on September 2 and 3 in Macclesfield, Cheshire. This event serves as a key professional hub for producers, distributors, and landscapers.
Market data from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) indicates that the UK ornamental production reached 1.62 billion pounds in 2025. Furthermore, ornamental imports rose by 6.4% annually to 1.55 billion pounds. In the first half of 2026, live plant imports from Italy to the UK were valued at approximately 29.2 million pounds, representing a 2.8% increase over the previous year.
