Italian Officials Approve Limbiate Building Code and Marche Shed Law

The municipal council of Limbiate (Lombardy) adopted a new Building Regulation with Deliberation No. 30 on 28 July 2026. The code, drafted under regional law, will take effect once published in the official regional bulletin and is intended to modernise standards for construction safety, accessibility, energy efficiency and urban decor. The regional council of the Marche region passed a law governing the construction of sheds for civil‑use storage, receiving 25 votes in favour and one against. The legislation caps shed height at 4.5 metres and surface area at 40 square metres, applies to agricultural zones—including protected natural areas—and requires removal after the civil‑use right expires. Luca Marconi, UDC group leader, said the law “had a fairly long process, but the broad consensus shows we can adopt measures that benefit the Marche community.” The law aims to support traditional activities such as wood collection while preserving landscape and environmental constraints.
