Italian officials visit Rozzano high school after vandalism

Paola Frassinetti, the Undersecretary for Education and Merit, and Deputy Fabio Raimondo visited Liceo Calvino in Rozzano on Monday, October 26, following severe acts of vandalism during recent student protests.

Accompanied by Mayor Mattia Ferretti and local administration officials, the delegation met with school staff and students to express solidarity. Frassinetti emphasized that while the right to protest is fundamental, it cannot justify violence or the destruction of public property. She highlighted the importance of civic education and the government's ongoing investments in school infrastructure to ensure safe learning environments.

Deputy Raimondo noted the negative impact of the damage on the entire school community, including students, families, and staff. The visit aimed to support the resumption of educational activities and reinforce the need to protect communal spaces and the right to study.
