Italian online time spikes in May, DAZN and Sky Sport drive growth

Comscore data shows Italy's digital market remained stable in May with 46.1 million unique visitors, while the average time spent online per person jumped 4.5% to 76 hours 43 minutes. The increase was driven entirely by mobile, which rose 5.6%, offset by a 1.3% decline on desktop. Year‑on‑year, Italians spent 6 hours 13 minutes more online, an 8.8% rise.

Among the top‑ten properties, DAZN/Whistle surged to the tenth spot with 27.8 million unique visitors, posting a 35.7% monthly increase and a 37.6% rise in its dedicated social‑media audience. Sky Sport Sites recorded 26.8 million visitors, up 20.3%, overtaking Sky TG24. RaiNews stayed ahead with 33.9 million visitors, up 7.6%, followed by Citynews at 29.4 million (stable). Il Giornale grew 19% to 6.3 million visitors, while Mediaset saw a 4% gain.
