Italian orchestral concerts to feature iconic film soundtracks

Multiple orchestral concerts dedicated to iconic film soundtracks are scheduled for August 18 in Italy.

In Campestrin, the Orchestra dei Colli Morenici will perform ‘C’era una volta Morricone’ at the PalaDolomites. Directed by Nicola Ferraresi, the program features arrangements of Ennio Morricone’s works, including themes from ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’, ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’, and ‘Cinema Paradiso’. Soprano Elena Camo will join the orchestra for the event, which offers free admission.

In Avezzano, the Orchestra da Camera IMA ‘Città di Avezzano’ will present ‘Note del Cinema – Musica e Parole’ at the Cortile Vescovile. Directed by Francesco Fina, the concert will feature melodies by Ennio Morricone, Scott Joplin, Astor Piazzolla, Henry Mancini, and Nicola Piovani. The performance will include soprano Marianna Volkova and narrator Paolo De Siena, combining music and spoken word in a live experience.
