Italian Paralympic fencing championships produce multiple medalists
The Italian Paralympic fencing championships were held at the Fiera di Roma from June 4, 2026. Michele Massa, a 2004‑born athlete from Monte San Pietrangeli and member of the Fiamme Gialle sports group, won the men's foil category B title and secured a silver medal in the men's sword category B. "Michele represents one of the most significant profiles of the Italian paralympic movement," said Stefano Angelelli, president of FIS Marche.
Luca Plataniache of the Accademia Scherma Livorno earned a silver medal in the men's sword category A after a narrow 15‑14 final loss and captured a bronze medal in the men's foil category A. Both athletes' performances highlight the depth of talent in Italy’s paralympic fencing program.
