Italian pastry artisans recognized for regional culinary traditions

Several Italian pastry artisans are receiving recognition for their dedication to regional culinary traditions. Giuseppe Bellia has been awarded two ‘Pennelli’ (brushes) in the Classical Artist category by L’Arcimboldo Magazine and Guide. Based in a 19th-century noble residence in Giarre, Bellia specializes in Sicilian confectionery traditions.

In Irpinia, Pasticceria Pesce is celebrating 130 years of operation. Spanning four generations since its founding in 1896, the establishment is renowned for its ‘Cassata Avellana,’ which utilizes local Avella hazelnuts. The anniversary event features Michelin-starred chef Paolo Barrale and highlights the business's historical impact on the local hazelnut supply chain.
