Italian patients highlight health system challenges and appreciation

Barbara Sangalli, a resident of Ponte San Pietro, wrote to a newspaper about her prolonged request for recognition of a professional disease by INAIL. She filed the claim in September 2025 through the Bergamo Patronato Inas, but after more than a year she has received no definitive response. Sangalli describes repeated inquiries, legal involvement, and the personal and economic hardships caused by the uncertainty of the outcome, calling for clearer communication from the institute.

Roberto Avalle, a grandfather from Alessandria, published a letter thanking the staff of the local hospital where he underwent knee‑prosthesis surgery and subsequent rehabilitation at the Teresio Borsalino rehab centre. He praises the professionalism, humanity, and dedication of the medical team, especially noting the commitment of young doctors in training, and expresses lasting gratitude for the care he received.
