Italian PD chief Elly Schlein vows rapid programme draft with alliance

Elly Schlein, secretary of Italy’s Democratic Party (PD), told La7’s "In Onda" programme that the party, which rose from a historic low to 24% support in a year and a half, has built a three‑year alliance that is not positioned against Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s government. She said the coalition will be ready at any moment for upcoming elections and that the allies will now "hurry to draft the programme" together, with the work taking place among ordinary citizens.
