Italian police act in separate knife‑related incidents in Voghera and Cerignola

In Voghera, Lombardy, Carabinieri responded to a citizen alert on 10 July 2026 and located a 30‑year‑old worker carrying a folding knife in his right‑leg pocket. After a personal search the knife was seized and the man, who lacked proper identification, was placed under investigation and charged for unlawful possession of a blade.

In Cerignola, Apulia, a 28‑year‑old resident was arrested on 18 July 2026 after a pharmacy robbery in which he threatened staff with a knife, seized about €1,500 in cash and fled on foot. Surveillance footage identified the suspect; forensic analysis of discarded clothing linked him to the crime, leading to his detention by the Carabinieri.

Both cases illustrate ongoing police efforts to curb knife‑related offenses in different Italian regions.
