Italian police and volunteers rescue stray dog in Bardonecchia and kitten in Barletta

Police officers from the State Police rescued a shepherd dog named Wisky that was struggling to walk near the road in Bardonecchia after a passerby reported the animal. The dog was taken to the police station, examined, and later identified via microchip before being returned to its owners.

In Barletta, volunteers from the environmental group ENPA and the animal‑rescue organization Stregatto di Molfetta saved a kitten that had fallen into a deep vat at an abandoned distillery. The hazardous site, with ten‑metre‑deep containers, has prompted local residents to demand safety measures and cleanup.

Both incidents highlight community and authority efforts to protect stray animals in Italy.
