Trapani Carabinieri report 1,500+ checks, two arrests and 87 charges in first half of 2026

The Carabinieri Command of the Trapani province carried out extraordinary territorial control services during the first six months of 2026, focusing on weekends and public holidays to boost public safety. Over 1,500 individuals and 856 vehicles were inspected. The operations resulted in two arrests and 87 people being charged while free pending trial.

The charges included eight thefts (six involving aggravated electricity theft), five drug‑related offenses with seizures of 28 g of hashish, 21 g of marijuana and 3 g of crack, six evasion from house arrest, 17 driving without a licence, 13 drunk‑driving offences, five driving under influence, eleven illegal weapon‑carrying incidents, and eleven refusals to undergo breath‑alcohol tests. Additionally, 53 subjects were reported to the Prefecture for personal drug possession.

These results supplement the routine territorial control activities of the Carabinieri throughout the province and reflect the command’s ongoing effort to prevent and repress crime in the most sensitive areas.
