Italian police arrest drug traffickers in Ferrara and Minerbe
On 24 June, Carabinieri in Ferrara stopped a 32‑year‑old foreign national who had presented at the police station to comply with a court order. Officers detected a strong drug odor, searched him and found 18 doses of marijuana (about 25 g) hidden in his underwear. He was arrested for possession with intent to traffic, and the Ferrara court validated the arrest and imposed a residence ban in the province.
In Minerbe, Carabinieri identified a 33‑year‑old Moroccan man who was already serving a seven‑month sentence for drug trafficking. After attempting to flee, he was apprehended, searched and discovered with 16 doses of cocaine weighing 13.4 g and €370 in cash. He was charged with drug trafficking and resistance to public officials and transferred to the Verona‑Montorio prison.
