Italian police arrest man linked to 18 criminal proceedings
State Police in Bari have arrested a man wanted in connection with 18 criminal proceedings involving online fraud, extortion, and stalking. The suspect allegedly operated across various Italian cities and the Republic of San Marino.
According to investigators, the individual used fake Facebook profiles to target victims by offering fraudulent concert tickets for high-profile artists, including Coldplay, Cesare Cremonini, Marco Mengoni, Renato Zero, and Pinguini Tattici Nucleari. After victims transferred money, the promised tickets were never delivered. In some instances, victims who attempted to cancel their purchases reported being subjected to threats and persecutory behavior.
The investigation involved multiple prosecutor offices, including those in Rome, Turin, Cremona, Venice, Florence, and Macerata, as well as authorities in San Marino.
