Italian police arrest robber and block €19,500 fraud scheme

In Vico Equense, a 66‑year‑old man was placed under house arrest after police intercepted him stealing a woman's phone and allegedly subjecting her to ongoing harassment; he faces charges of stalking and robbery.

In a separate incident in Levico Terme, Carabinieri stopped a telephone fraud in which a woman was tricked by someone posing as a marshal and was about to transfer €19,500 to a scam account. The police intervened with the bank, halted the transfer and warned the victim of the deception.
