Italian police arrest suspect and seize illegal firearm in Biancavilla

Carabinieri of the Biancavilla station arrested a 42‑year‑old resident after a targeted investigation supported by the Nicolosi canine unit. During the search, a specially trained German shepherd located a modified 9 mm pistol, a loaded magazine with four rounds and eleven additional cartridges of the same calibre.

The suspect was placed under a court‑ordered residence restriction, limiting his presence at home to the hours between 20:00 and 06:00. The operation is part of the police force’s ongoing effort to curb the spread of illegal weapons and enhance public safety in the region.
