Italian police arrest suspects in separate robbery and assault incidents
Italian authorities have conducted two separate arrests following violent criminal incidents. In San Giorgio a Cremano, State Police detained a 19-year-old suspect in connection with an aggravated robbery that occurred on September 25. During the incident, three individuals on a scooter threatened a couple with a handgun and stole their motorcycle. Following an investigation involving surveillance footage, police located the suspect in Ponticelli, recovering the stolen vehicle and clothing used during the crime. The suspect has been placed under house arrest.
In a separate incident on the A1 motorway near the Secchia Est service area, two men, aged 46 and 54, were arrested following an attempted robbery and an attack on law enforcement. While conducting highway theft prevention patrols, Modena Nord highway police observed the suspects attempting to steal luggage from a parked vehicle. When intercepted, one suspect attacked an officer with a 15-centimeter folding knife, causing wounds to the officer's abdomen and arm. Police seized professional theft equipment, including a signal jammer used to disrupt vehicle remote frequencies. Both men have been remanded in custody.
