Rome police seize drugs and weapons in coordinated bust of six suspects

Carabinieri from the provincial command and the anti‑drug unit (Dda) carried out a joint operation in Rome that resulted in the arrest of six people and the imposition of a sign‑off requirement. Investigators uncovered a drug‑and‑arms trafficking network that used public venues, including a restaurant in the Portuense district, as meeting points for couriers and to sample cocaine before large purchases. Women linked to the clan acted as couriers, transporting backpacks of narcotics through the city centre, while the gang communicated via self‑destructing messages on Signal and Telegram. The operation also seized cash and weaponry linked to the group. The six arrested individuals are now in the custody of the judicial authorities.
