Italian police seize 38,000 counterfeit luxury items in San Giuseppe Vesuviano
The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza in Naples uncovered a large-scale counterfeit operation in the municipality of San Giuseppe Vesuviano. Investigators, known as the “Baschi Verdi,” located a 250‑square‑meter warehouse containing more than 38,000 fake clothing and accessory items bearing the logos of brands such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Nike, Adidas and New Balance. The raid resulted in the seizure of the entire premises and the goods, and the arrest and charging of a Moroccan‑national resident in the area for possession of counterfeit goods and trafficking.
The operation, part of an intensified campaign against brand counterfeiting and to protect “Made in Italy,” stemmed from earlier observations at the Porta Nolana market and the “Maddalena” district. The seized merchandise was taken from a logistics hub used to supply illegal markets throughout Naples. The suspect faces charges of illegal possession for sale and receipt of counterfeit products; the case remains in the preliminary investigation phase.
Multiple news outlets reported the same details, confirming the scale of the seizure and the involvement of the Guardia di Finanza’s anti‑counterfeiting unit.
