Italian police charge driver of stolen van and drunk scooter rider

In Brescia, Carabinieri stopped a 28‑year‑old Tunisian who was driving a Fiat Doblò that had been reported stolen. The driver had no licence, showed signs of intoxication, refused alcohol and toxicology tests and was charged for driving without a licence and for the alleged theft.

In Laives, Carabinieri intercepted a 30‑year‑old rider of an electric scooter after observing dangerous riding. Two breath‑alcohol tests recorded levels of 2.38 g/L and 2.16 g/L, far above the legal limit, and the rider was also cited for lacking a helmet, missing lights and other infractions. Both incidents illustrate strict enforcement of road‑safety and vehicle‑theft regulations by Italian authorities.
