Italian police conduct theft and drug trafficking operations

Italian authorities have conducted two separate criminal investigations involving theft and drug trafficking.

In Tolentino, Carabinieri officers detained a 34-year-old man of Indian origin following a roadside check. During a personal search, police discovered two stolen debit cards belonging to a local resident. The individual, who was residing in Italy irregularly, has been charged with aggravated theft and transferred to a Repatriation Center in Turin to await expulsion.

In Parma, the Squadra Mobile seized approximately 500 grams of cocaine hidden within a false bottom of a wardrobe inside an extraordinary reception center (CAS). The discovery follows a July arrest of a Tunisian citizen, which prompted a deeper investigation into local drug trafficking. Authorities estimate the seized narcotics were worth approximately 90,000 euros and could have supplied over one thousand retail doses.
