Italian police crackdown on disorder in Perugia and Calcio
In the historic centre of Perugia, police were called to Piazza Danti after a fight broke out and bottles were thrown at passers‑by and vehicles. The clash involved three people, and a Tunisian man was taken to hospital with bruises. Local Lega officials called the incident a warning sign and urged tighter safety controls in the city’s nightlife areas.
During the Notte Bianca festival in Calcio, local police inspected venues and identified a bar that served alcoholic drinks to a 15‑year‑old. The bar’s owner faces possible licence suspension and fines. Officers also issued twelve citations for illegal scooter use and checked compliance with a municipal ban on glass bottles outside establishments, totalling about €1,000 in penalties.
