Italian police dismantle exam‑cheating group 'Maturità 2026

The State Police, working with the Prosecutor's Office in Trieste and the Cyber‑Security Operational Center of Friuli‑Venezia Giulia, shut down a large online group called “Maturità 2026.” The platform, with roughly 2,750 members, was used to share exam solutions and study material for the 2026 Italian State exam. Investigators traced the administration of the group to a 22‑year‑old woman residing in the province of Messina, who was detained and questioned. A search warrant was executed at her residence, and the group was blocked, preventing further distribution of the illicit content. The woman was released pending further investigation, while the case proceeds through the preliminary inquiry phase.

The operation underscores heightened police monitoring of digital channels ahead of national examinations and aims to deter future attempts to circulate copyrighted exam material.
