Italian police execute repatriation and arrest of foreign nationals

Italian police have conducted two separate operations involving foreign nationals in the regions of Emilia-Romagna and Sicily.

In the Riviera area, two Albanian citizens, aged 25 and 26, were expelled and repatriated to Albania via the port of Ancona. The individuals were apprehended in San Mauro Mare following a vehicle pursuit. During a search, police discovered two sharpened sticks concealed in the vehicle doors. The driver faces charges for dangerous driving and failure to obey traffic signals, while both individuals were charged with illegal residence and unlawful possession of weapons. This marks the seventh repatriation carried out in the Riviera during the current summer season.

In Ragusa, authorities arrested a 38-year-old Albanian man wanted under a European arrest warrant issued by Greek judicial authorities. The individual was sought for multiple offenses, including theft, animal cruelty, and immigration violations. Following targeted investigations by the Ragusa Mobile Squad, the man was apprehended and transferred to the Ragusa prison, where he awaits extradition to Greece.
