Italian police extradite Uzbek smuggler and deport two dangerous foreign nationals

Italian law‑enforcement agencies executed a European arrest warrant against an Uzbek citizen suspected of facilitating the illegal arrival of 89 migrants on the Crotone coast in August 2022. The man was tracked to the Netherlands, arrested there and handed over to Italian authorities for prosecution.

In a separate operation, the State Police in Ancona deported two non‑EU males, one Egyptian and one Albanian, who were serving sentences for violent and drug‑related offences. Both were escorted to Rome‑Fiumicino airport and flown back to their home countries after the police deemed them a threat to public order.
