Italian police fine businesses in Genoa and Agrigento for illegal activity

On 3 June, local police in Genoa conducted reinforced patrols in the Cornigliano and Sestri Ponente districts, checking commercial premises, green areas and streets. The operation targeted urban degradation and violations of anti‑alcohol rules, resulting in two €1,000 fines for price‑display and illegal public‑space occupation, three anti‑alcohol citations and a charge of drunkenness. About 30 people were inspected.

In Agrigento, State Police coordinated raids in the San Berillo quarter and along Corso Sicilia, focusing on a bar kiosk, a bakery and several street‑vendor stalls. Authorities issued a €15,000 fine for illegal occupation and missing price displays at the kiosk and imposed total fines of €19,000 for a range of violations. Police seized counterfeit clothing and footwear, tobacco products and other goods, identified 84 individuals and inspected 37 vehicles, noting multiple traffic infractions and uninsured vehicles.
