Italian police hold safety outreach for children in Catania and Coccaglio
On July 4 2026, State Police officers from the Catania Questura visited the summer GREST program at La Meridiana. The patrol and motorcycle units demonstrated their equipment, and the police K‑9 team, with dog Orso, simulated locating an explosive hidden in a backpack. Children also took pictures, rode motorcycles and experienced the radio‑operated control room, an effort to teach legal and safety concepts.
The same day in Coccaglio, Local Police officers conducted a safety lesson for participants of the inclusive Fanta Camp. They instructed children aged 3‑12 on road‑traffic rules, when to call emergency numbers and how to convey clear information. Municipal officials thanked the officers for their professionalism and highlighted the value of early civic education.
Both events aimed to promote legal awareness and public‑safety habits among young residents in the Italian regions of Sicily and Lombardy.
