Italian police intensify road safety enforcement and speed monitoring

The State Police in Benevento have increased road patrols to combat dangerous driving behaviors. During the period from October 26 to November 1, 2026, officers inspected 25 vehicles and 28 individuals, resulting in 24 violations. Notable infractions included illegal overtaking and mobile phone use while driving. These actions led to the seizure of three driver's licenses and a vehicle registration document, with a total of 92 license points deducted.

In a separate enforcement effort, provincial police have released a schedule for November 2026 regarding speed monitoring across various provincial roads. The plan utilizes speed cameras, telelasers, and fixed stations to monitor traffic in areas such as Ugento, Casarano, Melendugno, Torre dell’Orso, Galatina, Copertino, Lecce, and Galatina.
