Carabinieri recover stolen Cézanne, Renoir, and Matisse paintings in Italy

Italian Carabinieri have recovered three valuable paintings stolen from the Magnani Rocca Foundation near Parma during a heist on the night of March 22-23. The recovered works include “Still Life with Cherries” by Paul Cézanne, valued at approximately 6 million euros, “Fish” by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, valued at 3 million euros, and “Odalisque on the Terrace” by Henri Matisse, valued at 20,000 euros. The total estimated value of the recovered pieces exceeds 9 million euros.

The theft was described as a highly organized and professional operation, with thieves reportedly entering the museum and completing the robbery in less than three minutes. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities focusing on a structured gang. Reports indicate that nine individuals of Moldovan origin are under investigation in connection with the crime, with five suspects specifically identified as having participated in the theft.
