Italian police seize 80 kg cocaine in Palermo raid and 3 kg in Brescia‑Adriatic operation
The Italian Guardia di Finanza and Carabinieri carried out coordinated anti‑drug operations across the country. In Palermo, a court‑ordered raid linked to the DDA of the city resulted in nine arrests and the seizure of approximately 80 kg of narcotics, including cocaine sourced from Calabria and Campania and hashish from Lazio.
A separate Carabinieri operation coordinated by the DDA of Brescia targeted six provinces—Brescia, Ancona, Bergamo, Brindisi, Grosseto and Mantova—arresting 12 suspects and seizing about 3 kg of cocaine. Investigators uncovered a network involving Italian and Albanian nationals, a logistic base in Rovato, and the use of a local pizzeria as a front for wholesale cocaine distribution.
Both actions demonstrate an ongoing effort by Italian law‑enforcement agencies to dismantle organized drug‑trafficking groups operating in the north, central and southern regions of the country.
