Italian police seize assets in crackdown on illegal waste dumping

In San Cipriano d’Aversa, municipal police identified a vehicle used to dump waste near the town cemetery, seized the vehicle and imposed fines totalling about €3,000 for illegal waste abandonment.

In Taverna, Calabria, Carabinieri from the National Park unit, together with the regional environmental agency ARPA Calabria, discovered special and mixed waste abandoned in the protected Sila Piccola area. The authorities seized the contaminated site and referred the landowner and the area’s manager to the prosecutor for violations of waste‑management law.
