Italian police seize multi‑ton cocaine shipment in Atlantic and arrest local dealer in Puglia

Italian law‑enforcement agencies coordinated an international operation that recovered about 4.7 tonnes of cocaine in the Atlantic Ocean. The seizure, led by the anti‑mafia directorate of Brescia with support from Spanish and Portuguese authorities, added 2.085 tonnes to an earlier 2.627 tonne haul intercepted on a high‑speed go‑fast boat. The drugs, packaged identically to the first batch, were traced to the same shipment, and the total value is estimated in the hundreds of millions of euros.

In a separate operation in the Puglia region, Carabinieri from the Barletta‑Andria‑Trani command arrested a 43‑year‑old man from Trani caught selling cocaine on Via Andria. He was found with 14 doses of cocaine and cash. Two additional youths were detained in Bisceglie after police observed them passing drugs hidden in gas and postal boxes. The raids also seized 232.5 g of hashish, 9.5 g of cocaine, 280 g of marijuana, 50.5 g of wax, and €240 in cash.
