Italian police shut down barbershops in Fondi and Orte for safety and licensing violations

In Fondi, the provincial police (Questore of Latina) ordered a ten‑day suspension of a barbershop’s licence after two inspections uncovered concealed hashish and a hostile attitude from the owner, deeming the premises a risk to public safety.

In Orte, local police together with Carabinieri and the municipal business office (Suap) closed an unlicensed barbershop following a July 9 inspection that found the shop operating without the required SCIA or any other administrative authorisation. The municipal order cited threats to public order, health and fair market competition.

Both actions illustrate Italian authorities’ enforcement of public‑order and health regulations on small‑business establishments.
