Italian police shut down illegal jewelry and gambling operations
Italian police have conducted a series of high-impact inspections across the Crotone and Acireale regions, resulting in the shutdown of several unauthorized businesses.
In Crotone, authorities identified an illegal jewelry workshop operating without required authorizations. The business had also moved its location without notifying municipal services and failed to maintain proper records of precious objects. Additionally, a betting center had its licenses permanently revoked by the Questore of Crotone following repeated administrative and criminal violations over a five-year period.
In Acireale, officers discovered an illegal betting operation concealed within a stationery shop. While the business was officially registered as a stationery store and internet point, police found a partitioned area equipped with computers, thermal printers, and betting slips. Authorities seized documentation related to cash payments and betting activities, and the owner has been reported to judicial authorities for operating without a license.
