Italian political coalitions face shifting poll numbers and local reorganization
Political dynamics in Italy are shifting according to recent polling and local coalition movements. National polls indicate the progressive 'campo largo' coalition leads with 44.2% of the vote, despite a decline in support for the Partito Democratico (PD), which sits at 19.1%. The progressive bloc is seeing growth from the Movimento 5 Stelle (13.6%) and Avs (7.5%).
In contrast, the center-right coalition trails at 38.7%. Fratelli d’Italia remains the leading party within this bloc at 25.9%, while Forza Italia holds 7% and Lega has dropped to 4.5%.
On a local level in Benevento, center-right parties have begun discussions regarding the 2027 administrative elections. Fratelli d’Italia convened a meeting between various coalition members, including representatives from Forza Italia and Lega, to foster dialogue and address past electoral inconsistencies. The meeting aimed to unify the coalition's various factions ahead of future local contests.
