Italian political groups debate ethical tax and healthcare conditions

Campaign coordinators for the abolition of the ethical tax, including Valentina Nappi and Debora Striani, have denied allegations regarding the validity of their signature collection. They stated that they successfully gathered 50,000 signatures to oppose the tax, which they describe as discriminatory and unreasonable. The group noted that delays in receiving electoral certificates from municipalities hindered a scheduled Senate appointment, but they are continuing the fight through parliamentary dialogue and legal challenges, having already contested their first tax bill.

In Gela, the Movimento 5 Stelle (M5S) has responded to criticisms from MPA Secretary Caci regarding a protest over the conditions at the Vittorio Emanuele hospital. M5S representative Filippo Rapicavoli denied causing any image damage to the facility, asserting instead that the protest highlighted poor hospital conditions. Rapicavoli noted that over 12,000 signatures collected during the protest reached the President of the Republic. The M5S also addressed political tensions following comments made by Caci regarding the citizenship income.
