Italian Postal Police conclude national school safety initiative
The Italian State Police has concluded its national prevention and awareness initiative, ‘Una Vita da Social-Action Week’. Running from September 28 to October 9, the program involved Postal Police specialists visiting schools across Italy to discuss online security and the culture of legality.
The initiative aimed to increase awareness regarding the consequences of digital behaviors that threaten personal and public safety, particularly in response to recent violence involving young people. The program reached approximately 300 schools, engaging 40,000 students, 3,000 teachers, and 500 parents.
Key topics addressed included adolescent violence, the spread of hate speech and violent content on social networks, and the risks of virtual communities that encourage radicalization or emulation. Discussions also covered cyberbullying, sextortion, and the non-consensual sharing of intimate images, highlighting how digital actions can escalate into real-world threats and aggression.
