Monza nursery school staff arrested for child maltreatment

Authorities in Monza and Brianza have arrested the owner and an educator of a private nursery school following an investigation into the maltreatment of children aged between a few months and three years.

Investigators from the State Police documented habitual neglect, including inadequate provision of food and water, as well as the use of degrading punishments and coercive educational methods. The 24-year-old educator is also accused of practicing her profession without legal qualifications and facing allegations of sexual violence involving inappropriate contact with children.

The 42-year-old owner is charged with maltreatment and the unauthorized exercise of a profession for employing an unqualified staff member for seven months. Two other educators, aged 32 and 49, have been reported to the authorities as part of the ongoing investigation.
