Italian prosecutor seeks trial for woman accused of stalking and attempted murder
An Italian prosecutor has requested a trial for a 47-year-old woman from Taranto accused of stalking and threatening both her former lover and his wife. The investigation alleges that between the summer of 2022 and 2023, the woman harassed and threatened her rival with death through personal encounters and telephone calls.
The accusations include physical aggression, such as an incident in December 2022 where a piece of wood was thrown near the man's workplace. Furthermore, the woman reportedly loitered near the couple's home to cause them fear and anxiety.
In March 2024, the woman gained notoriety after attempting to strike the man with her vehicle in Taranto. He survived the incident due to the presence of yellow parking bollards. Following the failed attempt, she reportedly expressed frustration that he had not been killed. The judge must now decide whether to proceed with a formal trial.
