Italian prosecutors seek conviction in domestic abuse case
In a court case in the province of Ferrara, prosecutors are seeking a conviction against a 44-year-old man accused of long-term domestic abuse and obsessive control over his former partner. The prosecution alleges that the man engaged in behaviors characterized by morbid jealousy, including monitoring the woman’s movements via GPS trackers installed in her car and handbag, controlling her clothing choices, and repeatedly harassing her at her workplace.
The allegations span several years, with reports of physical violence, such as pushing and hitting, occurring during both private and public confrontations. The situation escalated in August 2025 when the woman attempted to end the relationship, leading to further physical altercations and threats. The man is also accused of stalking the victim and appearing at her daughter’s school to issue threats.
