Italian recalls alert on Carnaroli rice pesticide and fresh eggs salmonella

The Italian Ministry of Health has issued a precautionary recall of a batch of Carnaroli rice (lot 13022036) marketed by Tenca Colombo & C. after tests found levels of the insecticide tetramethrin exceeding legal limits. The rice, produced by Riseria di Morano Snc in Alessandria, carries a best‑before date of 31 March 2027. Consumers are advised not to eat the product and to return it to the point of sale for refund or replacement.

A separate recall concerns fresh eggs sold under the AIA and Selex brands. The eggs, produced by Agricola Tre Valli cooperative at its facility in Caselle di Sommacampagna (Verona), are flagged for a possible presence of Salmonella enteritidis. The affected lot is identified by code ISTAT1IT040VR006 and expires on 4 August 2026. Consumers should also refrain from consuming the eggs and return them to retailers for replacement.
