Data from Movimprese and InfoCamere indicate a positive trend for business dynamics across several Italian regions during the third quarter of 2026. Nationally, Italy recorded a net increase of 18,403 businesses, a growth rate of 0.32%, marking its best result since 2021.

In Sardinia, the artisan sector ranked third nationally for dynamism, recording 445 new registrations and 333 closures, resulting in a net gain of 112 activities and a 0.33% growth rate. The total number of artisan businesses in the region reached 33,858 by September 30.

Liguria also showed significant strength, with its artisan sector growing at twice the national average. The region recorded 607 new registrations and 512 closures, a net increase of 95 businesses (+0.22%). The construction sector was the primary driver in Liguria, accounting for nearly nine-tenths of the overall growth.

In the Alto Lazio area, the provinces of Viterbo and Rieti reported a combined net increase of 146 businesses. Viterbo saw a net gain of 98 businesses (+0.27%), while Rieti recorded a net gain of 48 businesses (+0.34%), outperforming the national average growth rate.
