Italian regional councilors demand data on healthcare service coverage
Regional councilors in Italy are seeking greater transparency regarding the effectiveness and coverage of local healthcare services.
In Friuli Venezia Giulia, Simona Liguori of Patto per l’Autonomia-Civica has submitted an inquiry to the regional government to obtain detailed data on home care services. Liguori argues that simply counting the number of people receiving assistance is insufficient. She is requesting data from 2021 through 2026, categorized by health agency and the Coefficient of Care Intensity (CIA), to distinguish between occasional services and continuous, complex nursing care.
In Emilia-Romagna, Giancarlo Tagliaferri of Fratelli d’Italia has raised concerns regarding shortages in pediatric care, specifically within the Piacenza area. Following a regional determination identifying areas with insufficient pediatric coverage, Tagliaferri has requested a written response from the regional government. He seeks to understand the gap between published vacancies and doctors actually in service, emphasizing the impact these delays have on families.
