Italian regional culinary traditions and local anniversaries

In Italy, regional culinary traditions are being highlighted through artisanal producers and local celebrations. In Puglia, the company F. lli Gentile, based in Fasano, Brindisi, continues a tradition of artisanal meat processing dating back to the 1940s. The company focuses on 100% Italian meats and local spices to produce traditional items such as Capo Collo di Martina Franca, Salsiccia Valle dei Trulli, and various cured meats.

In Appiano Gentile, Pasticceria Tarantola has introduced a new pastry named ‘Il Gentile’ to commemorate the centenary of the municipality receiving its official name via royal decree in 1926. The dessert is a soft leavened product enriched with white chocolate drops. To mark the anniversary, a community event featuring a historical photographic exhibition and a concert by the local municipal band is scheduled.
