Italian regional delegations attend European Week of Regions and Cities

Italian regional delegations, including representatives from the Province of Siena and the Molise Region, participated in the European Week of Regions and Cities 2026 in Brussels. The event focused on regional development, urban policies, and cohesion.

Agnese Carletti, President of the Province of Siena, expressed concern regarding the upcoming EU Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028-2034. She noted that discussions suggest significant potential cuts to funds dedicated to agricultural and cohesion policies, which impact innovation, social services, and training.

Meanwhile, the Molise Region presented projects such as SA RESILIENCE and TO BE READY, focusing on climate resilience and civil protection. Discussions centered on Mediterranean cooperation and the use of strategic tools, like the Geocatalogo, to manage emergency risks and respond to climate change in the Adriatic region.
